Today I learnt to round numbers.I got all the question right.I am proud of myself.

M.O.T.A.T Trip 2

Wednesday 17 April 2013.

On a rainy day we went to MOTAT for our topic Simple Machines.Our guide was Melissa.She took us around and showed us all the different stuff.  

At MOTAT we were exploring the different exhibitions like the pump house .We looked at the future trains and very old cars.We also looked at the Military tanks and battle re-reattachment.We saw how coal was put in a fire to make steam.

Then we we went into the gallery where we saw fascinating cars and trams.We went upstairs to watch a movie about planes.We saw an old oven and a jukebox.” Wow! I had said looking at this really good looking racing car with the number 5 on it.I imagined me being in the driver seat.

After that we had to go for our tram ride past the Auckland zoo and also past and airplane.The tram was great fun.It felt like going on a ferry to somewhere.When we  got off the tram, we went to the challenge room.All of us went in the earthquake room.I had push the button and the earthquake began with a loud noise.It like being in a real earthquake.

During our class lesson with Melissa she  showed us all the simple mechanisms like a pulley,Wheel and axle,cogs and gears.Then we  had to build our own simple machines with blocks and wheels.In our team we made a double Decker bus.Other teams were making planes and pulleys.

Then we headed off to the exhibition room.At the exhibition room i saw cool car’s and picture’s.   

I Enjoyed MOTAT and would like to go there again.It was enjoyable trip. The trip made me learn more about Simple Machines. We are so lucky we could have a this great  opportunity.

Good Friday

Wednesday 3rd April 2013.

On good friday My family and I Went to go buy our Easter eggs we could choses watch easter eggs we won't.We had chosen big and small easter eggs.Then we had hid our easter eggs.We had to go in the kitchen so we don't see where they hid our easter egg.Then the hunting started to look for our big eggs.I had went upstairs to look in the bedroom for the big ones.

My 2 sisters had looked down stairs.I couldn’t find the big egg anywhere.But then i looked under my bed and something was shining.And it was a small egg.And i thought that it was a big egg.My sister was jumping up and down because she had found the big egg.So then i found all of the small eggs.

We had to find one more egg watch was The biggest egg of all.I had checked In the backyard..I couldn't see it but then I looked into the grass and it was shining.It was the big egg.I had YELLED out to everone I find it.Then we eate all of our eggs and i haved saved my big egg for my family.Good friday was the best day.           

Canoeing the Whanganui River

Last summer we canoed down the Whanganui River for five days.The Whanganui River is very remote. There are no roads or towns. We paddled through beautiful bush for days. Birds were singing in the tall trees. The sun sparkled on the smooth water. We canoed through narrow gorges with high cliffs. Sometimes we paddled through rapids where there were rocks jutting out of the water. The river moved very quickly over the rapids. Our canoes bounced up and down. Once I fell out of my canoe. I had to swim down the river to catch it. That was exciting!

Each night we pulled our canoes up a bank to some flat grass. We cooked our food on stoves and we slept in tents. It was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed ourselves.

My canoe would be big and with heaps of gold on it as patterns yahoo.

Water Fun Day

wow! glenbrae had a Water fun day on February 18.Everyone were split into four colours.The colours were Rata,Nikau,kauri and kowhai.

I was in Kauri.We had to wear a t-shirt of our colour group.Miss Greenham and mrs Ripata were in Kauri.

all of the groups were saying there chart and holding their banner.then we marched around the court and were settled on the court.

Then the teachers sent all the classrooms to go and do your activity.off we started with our fun day.our activity was to put the sponge in the bucket of water so it suck the water up and take it to our bins.

i liked getting wet from the sparkling water.then this wild man came to attacked us with water.after the wild man attacked us we had heard the cyrin.that meant to move on to our next activity.

Water fun day was awesome because we had to do heaps of cool things i hope we have an opportunity to do this again.
